Corte Negra takes Vienna!
Corte Negra, the youth hip hop group from the 23 de enero neighborhood in Caracas who performed at the World Premiere of Venezuela Rising, is touring with the film. They were a hit at the University screening on May 16th. Below is a clip from their performance.

Venezuela Rising Heads to Prague and Budapest!
Here are fotos from the SPO event on the 15th. Many thanks to the Venezuela Consulate in Vienna for coordinating so many wonderful events in Vienna!
Venezuela Rising will have events in Prague and Budapest on the 18th and 19th of May, then head to London May 24th!

Venezuela Rising Team meets Chavez!
Yannilex, one of the main protagonists from 23 de enero of the documentary Venezuela Rising, as well as Corte Negra, a hip hop group from 23 de enero, met Chavez. Yannilex gave him a copy of the film on behalf of the team and Corte Negra stepped to him freestyle! La Frente also performed and the crowd of more than 1500 delegates from all over Europe listened to indigenous leaders from Ecuador, Mexico and a special treat -- Carlos Lage, Vice President of Cuba, newly elected president of Boliva, Evo Morales and of course, Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez!

Welcome to the European tour of Venezuela Rising! Here you will find the latest info and reports on screenings of the film!
We started off with a bang, exhibiting the film at the Alternative EU-Latin America Summit, which was held in at the same time as the official EU-LA summit here in Vienna.
Gladys and Yannilex, from the film, are here speaking on behalf of the barrio revolucionario of 23 de Enero! Also here with them are the Frente de Cantores Revolucionarios de Venezuela and Corte Negra, a hip hop group from 23 de Enero, who performed at the World Premiere in Venezuela during the World Social Forum!
